Polynesian Bouquet Quilt

Polynesian Bouquet

This is the quilt top before quilting.

I started designing this quilt over a year ago. I hand Appliqued the blocks using an over lay for placement of pieces. I also work with freezer paper shapes on the good side of fabric and needle turn so I do not have to cut away or pull out the paper after the shape has been appliqued down. This saves me a lot of time.

This is Block #3's over lay that I used.

This is a picture of how the over lay is used.
(new quilt in the making)

This quilt Pattern I have put it into pattern form and have been selling the patterns as individual block patterns. These patterns are Accuquilt friendly.

One of the blocks packaged up as a pattern.
You can find all the patterns on my Etsy Shop

I put the quilt blocks together on point so that I could have set in triangles so that I could do some feather quilting in them.

This is a picture of the corner traingle.

You can see what I did in the triangles, and also the borders, even though the border is not finished in this picture.

I also had fun in the borders even though I had a busy fabric and you will not see much of the quilting.

This is a small section of the border.

This is a Picture of the back of the quilt. Here you can see what I did in the traingles and the borders.

I did a fill design around all the applique and I also did some stitching around applique circles and flower petels too.

Background fill round the applique.

All that I have left to do is the binding.
I think I will put this quilt into the big quilt show here in Quebec.

Happy Quilting Everyone

Life took me over

I have been so busy that I have not had time to post anything new. My last blog entry was in Augest. I have had no time to post but have been taking lots of pictures so that when I have more time I will be able to share with you.I have been busy this past fall right up to the Christmas holidays doing Quilt Shows and Craft Fairs.

This was a large Craft Fair in Ontario that I did. I was there for two days and had a great time selling my finished goods.

This was a Quilt show had a great time seeing all my quilting friends and meeting new ones. It was a really great show.

In between all that I have been busy working on a new pattern called Floral Applique Bed Scarf

You can find this on my Etsy Shop at

the full length of the Bed Scarf

Close up

I was very pleased with the finished look.

I have been quilting a lot for clients and my last job just before the Christmas holidays was five Embroidered Pillows. I have done baby quilts for each of her grandchildern and she asked me to do pillows that will match the quilts.

All five pillows

This one I think was my favorite

I have always liked seahorses

This was a great job to finish up with before the Christmas Holidays. Over the Holidays I have been working on one of my quilts.

I am still quilting on this quilt but am hoping to have it finished soon. I will get back to this quilt in a future blog.

I have to close up shop for the day Happy Quilting and Sewing.
